The Blast From Sade Adu

The blast from the past Sade Adu (OBE) and her band "Sade" are coming together after nearly 10 years with a new album with brand new material. Formed in 1982, when the Latin soul band "Pride" broke apart and members Sade Adu, Paul Anthony Cook, Paul Spencer Denman, Stuart Matthewman went solo and began writing their own material for their songs, Sade offered fans jazz and soul sounds like they had never heard before.

Titled "Soldier of Love", their long awaited album was initially released on 5th February 2010 in Germany and worldwide on 8th February. It debuted at number 4 on the UK Albums Chart and at number 1 on the US Billboard 200.

Well known for their unique sounds of R&B, soul, jazz, funk and soft rock,Sade skyrocketed to stardom with their debut album "Diamond Life" which shot to the top of the UK Top Ten charts in the mid-80s and went on to win a Grammy Award for Best New Artist as well as making Platinum certification. Now their new release Soldier of Love has sold over 1.1 million copies in the United States, also making it a certified platinum album. As well as their new album, Sade los angeles has also announced a major concert world tour set for 2011 following the album’s Platinum certification. This tour will also be their first in over ten years, their last being the unforgettable "Lovers Rock" tour way back in 2001. Sade is planning to tour the whole of America with over 50 concerts just in North America alone!

Talk is sizzling about what to expect from the new tour and how it will be perceived by critics and fans. The album was received with generally positive reviews and favorable responses from everyone so expectations are high as to the experience of their concert. The Daily Telegraph’s Tom Horan quoted that the songs of their new album are "beautifully balanced between warmth and toughness, vulnerability and hauteur".

Their tour will kick off from Europe in France at the PalaisNikaia in Nice on 29th April, moving on to Belgium, Germany, Italy, Sweden, then back to Germany, the Czech Republic before moving on to Ireland and the UK in May 2011. The tour of USA will begin in Baltimore at the 1st Mariner Arena on the 16th of June 2011.

Sade new york tour dates have already been announced for the Staples Centre in Los Angeles and Honda Centre in Anaheim. The Sade tour date for L.A. is August 19 and Aug30 for O.C. Tickets will go on sale on October 18. she has also announced a sade San Diego tour, there is no news or details out yet about the exact date, or the venue they will choose.
